Field Dimensions
A field hockey field is rectangular, with a length of 91.44 meters (100 yards) and a width of 55 meters (60 yards). The goal area is a semicircle with a radius of 14 meters (15 yards). The goal is 2.14 meters (7 feet) high and 3.66 meters (12 feet) wide.
Equipment

Penalties
If a player commits a serious offense, the referee may award a penalty corner to the opposing team. A penalty corner is a type of penalty in which the opposing team is allowed to take a shot on goal from a designated spot on the field. The ball must be hit from behind the 23-meter line and must not be deflected by another player.
The Umpire
The umpire is responsible for enforcing the rules of the game. The umpire has the authority to award free hits, penalty corners, and other penalties. The umpire also has the authority to dismiss players from the game.
